Begin this adventure-packed weekend (August 25-26) with hiking to a glacial glades botanical area, wildflowers, views and waterfalls; followed by camping or cabins; and finishing with either rafting class V rapids suitable for first-timers, or kayaking in duckies for the more experienced, or horseback trail riding with awesome gorge views, or canopy tour with 10 ziplines, 5 bridges and a rappel. We'll carpool from Charlottesville and pick up any others on our way to the New River Gorge, WV.

If you were to go on this same trip alone on your own, as shown in the detailed calculations on the members'-only description page, it would cost you $80 to $165 more, and that wouldn't even include the camping gear!

Cost: OASC does not make any money on any of the activities. Many activities are free. For activities in which the club Leader incurs an expense to run the event, there is a fee to cover that expense (for example, a hike in the mountains typically costs $2 to $5 so the Leader has gas money to give to the carpool drivers). The base participation fee for this particular adventure is $60 and includes a lonnnng list of things :) OASC Membership is required to attend, as we continue to build a community of outdoorsy people with similar interests and values.
