Description:

Hatha Yoga is the Yoga system of physical well-being with which most of the Western students begin their practice of this ancient science. Kripalu Hatha Yoga uses the body as a "sacred doorway" through which we focus our awareness and by which our body’s inborn potential for well-being is unleashed. Through techniques using the body and involving the breath and mind, we rejuvenate and re-balance all the bodily systems: endocrine nervous, muscular, skeletal, immune, circulatory and digestive. Consistent practice brings calmness and clarity to the emotions, anchor feelings on a base of deep relaxation and help us develop the ability to witness ourselves.
This is a playful and yet profound hour of practice: non judgmental, full of compassion, respect, knowledge and understanding of everyone’s sacred space and needs. The aim of this practice is to encourage concentration, inner stillness, perseverance, patience, self-acceptance, objective self-observation and a sense of humor, while developing a series of Asanas (postures), and through Pranayama (conscious breathing) ultimately prepare for Meditation.
This session is open to beginners and to those who have been practicing Hatha Yoga for a while.

RSVP: visit www.outdoorsocial.com or call 434-760-HIKE (4453)
Cost: OASC does not make any money on any of the activities. Many activities are free. For activities in which the club Leader incurs an expense to run the event, there is a fee to cover that expense (for example, a hike in the mountains typically costs $2 to $5 so the Leader has gas money to give to the carpool drivers). The participation fee for this particular adventure is FREE. OASC Membership is required to attend, as we continue to build a community of outdoorsy people with similar interests and values. If you are not one of our ~200 Members (ages 18 to 70s) but would like to join in on this and other fun (we have ~2 adventures every day – weekday eves, and weekends), please click "Join" at www.outdoorsocial.com and/or call 434-760-HIKE (4453) for more information. Thanks!
Additional helpful information about this particular adventure (such as directions, what to bring, etc.) is available, it was omitted here for the sake of brevity. Timing and location details are subject to change. Please contact us for more info. Thanks!
